Cigar Aficionado’s Top 25 of 2023 at The Cigar Box

Updated: Mar 14

The weather in Indy is still making up its mind, but the warm weather will come soon. You’re probably like me, feeling angsty about firing up the grill, prepping the motorcycle for riding season, and getting the patio prepped for smoking outside on a warm summer night. Don’t be like me and forget to stock up on various cigars. I was grilling hamburgers and wanted a cigar, but all I had was dark, heavy maduros. Which left me digging through sticks I didn’t care to enjoy at that moment. Here are cigars we carry that made Cigar Aficionados “Top 25 of 2023” list!

-Padron Serie 1926 Maduro(any size) Strength: Medium Blend: All Nicaraguan Desc: Rich smoke of cocoa, almond, honey, and cinnamon

-Oliva Serie V Melanio (any size) Strength: Medium-Full Blend: W: Ecuador B/F: Nicaraguan Desc: Smoke brims with earth and spice, offering everything from cumin and cardamom to ground clove and allspice. Underlying cedar brings balance and structure

-Blackened Cigars “M81” (any size) Strength: Medium-Full Blend: W: Mexican San Andres B: Conn. Broadleaf F: Nicaragua, Penn. Broadleaf Desc: Spicy smoke with heavy notes of chocolate and earth. Subtle notes of nutmeg and cinnamon

-Trinidad Espiritu Series No. 1 (any size) Strength: Medium-Full Blend: All Nicaraguan Desc: First puffs start with concentrated notes of fig, raisin, date, and dried blueberry. A meaty, savory element brings it all together.

-Ashton Virgin Sun Grown (any size) Strength: Full Blend: W: Ecuador B/F: Dom. Rep. Desc: Made by Fuente, the VSG has a powerful earthy base, enhanced by a rich roasted peanut quality and dried fruit

-Montecristo Edicion Diamante Strength: Medium-Full Blend: All Nicaraguan Desc: First puffs erupt with pepper, leather, and earth, but a steady flow of roasted nuts, baking spices, and dark chocolate even out the smoke

-Olmec Claro (any size) Strength: Medium Blend: W: Mexican San Andres B/F: Nicaragua Desc: This delivers a dense, sweet-and-spicy smoke. Bursts of ginger and citrus provide the zest, while accents of nuts, toast, and vanilla bring sweet detail

-West Tampa Red (any size) Strength: Medium-Full Blend: W: Mexican San Andres B/F: Nicaragua Desc: A bold core of chocolate is apparent from first puff to last, also layers of hickory, nutmeg, and mocha finish

Come to either of The Cigar Box locations and enjoy a cigar!
