Cesar Travels to the 2nd Annual OpusX Exodus Event with Greg Kraios

Updated: Nov 19

On October 9th, 2024, I joined an exclusive group of 212 cigar enthusiasts at the 2nd annual OpusX Exodus event at the Burning Tree Country Club in Greenwich, CT. Hosted by Mike Cafagno of Tobacconist of Greenwich (ToG), the evening was not only a celebration of the Arturo Fuente cigar legacy but also a testament to the power of giving back. The event's centerpiece was a charity auction benefiting the Cigar Family Charitable Foundation, an organization established by the Fuente and Newman families to improve lives in the mountainous Bonao region of the Dominican Republic.

The night was unforgettable. It featured an open bar, a three-course dinner of filet mignon and lobster tail, rare auction items like exclusive cigars, one-of-a-kind humidors, and even a trip to the Arturo Fuente Cigar Factory. Thanks to the generosity of attendees, the event raised nearly $500,000 for charity.

Beyond the event itself, Tobacconist of Greenwich was more than just a shop; it was a haven for cigar lovers. Nestled in Greenwich's business district, ToG blends tradition with modern cigar culture, offering a curated experience for enthusiasts. The warmth and hospitality Mike and Nick Cafagno extended made the visit exceptional.

I'm grateful to have been part of this extraordinary gathering and look forward to next year's event. Thank you to Mike, Nick, Greg Kraios, and Carlito Fuente for the opportunity and believing in the dream of creating community through cigars.
