My Father La Promesa Toro

Jose Pepin Garcia was born in Cuba and rolled his first cigar at age 11. Nearly 50 years later, in 2009, Garcia launched My Father Cigars in Nicaragua.

My Father brands are known for distinct combination of strength, richness, and spicy aroma with a heavy finish.

La Promesa is one of those brands and the name refers to the promise Garcia made to his family before leaving Cuba. He promised to prove himself and honor his family by making something of himself in the cigar world outside of Cuba. His success with My Father Cigars fulfills that promise.

La Promesa is Nicaraguan filler and binder, covered in a dark, Ecuadoran Habano rosado oscuro wrapper. The line features five sizes including Robusto Grande (5.5 x 54), Toro (6 x 52), Lancero (7.5 x 38), Petite (4.5 x 50), and Corona Gorda (5.5 x 48).

“The My Father La Promesa Toro is medium-bodied but full in flavor with notes of white pepper, soft leather, and a very unique (pleasant) floral note on the finish with a hint of citrus. Best enjoyed after lunch or dinner and pairs well with Coke, medium-bodied beers, and light-bodied liquors,” writes Matt W of The Cigar Box Indianapolis.

The Cigar Box is a family-owned, retail cigar store with two locations in Indianapolis and Carmel, Indiana. Learn more at www.thecigarboxonline.com.
